This was posted by a user in the general discussion, in the game-hub of Pirates, Vikings & Knights II. Thought I'd bring some attention to this by posting it here.
I have played games with rude people before. I have even been kicked from games because I'm a girl. But never before have the people in a game actually made me cry.
To them, I am either a hacker when I win, a ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when I lose, and a stupid ♥♥♥♥ all the time. I have been called every name in the book. But in this game, I heard it all in a single round. I just started playing, and I never want to play it again. All I did was say hello using my mic, and from that point every single person insulted me. I was a ♥♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥, stupid ♥♥♥♥♥, everything. And to make matters worse, my team even blamed me when we lost, and tried to call a vote to kick me.
I'm 19. I should not let words hurt me. But there's only so much I can take.
First of all it is downright sad that this player had to experience this. Secondly, I know for a fact that I'm not alone when I say that I have experienced similar things through my years here. Notably, I have
never experienced what she talks about anywhere else than on the PVKII-servers. What does that say about us?
This isn't the first time people have criticized the PVKII-community for the hating and bad behavior as most of you should be aware of. It is widely known among pvkii-players that this community has too many assholes and is an ill-reputed community. It doesn't take too many clicks on these forum boards or too many minutes in-game playing, to know what I'm talking about. This is what it has come to, what I quoted above.
This right here is something I urge you all to think about the next time you're playing and you see this type of behavior on the server.
Final advice - Don't call somebody "a fag.got" just because he or she turns out to be a girl, because he/she whooped your ass or supports a different view than yours.

1) Very glitchy game offers a haven for trolls. Latency issues, tweaking with your net, hacking, anything of the sort, gives a player a feeling of power and 'superiority' over other people, the ability for a troll is simply set his rates to something crazy or throw on a hack means that in effect one person can disrupt an entire server. Eventually you get a process of elimination, with respectable players quickly abandoning the game to save them the time, and the ill-reputed players staying because they can find a quick way to make someone 'rage' or for them to feel better than another player.
2) Lack of authority. Bans are given out lightly, and even then the corrupt server admins usually unban the player because he has connections with the said server admin, usually through friendship or the friendship of someone else (omg u banned mah fruend plz unban him). Because the game is so underpopulated, admins are also reluctant to ban players from their servers, fearing their servers will become dead as the main playerbase (main trollbase) has been banned from their server. This means the admin wastes his hard earned cash on a server that never sees any players. Hell even a good friend of mine whom I shall not name said that he's probably going to take down his PVKII server and swap over to NS2 or some other game, less populated by trolls and assholes.
2.5) Sort of tying in to number 2, server admins, or at least 75% of them, are trolls themselves, therefore having a corrupt authority on the game means that trolls will never see the justice of the ban that they deserve. Because of this, PVKII seems to be stuck in a position in which respectable and mature players do not want to be a part of the game because they do not want to be mixed in with a community that consists primarily of trolls. They do not stick around long, and therefore do not set up servers in which they can employ the correct rules and attract a healthy playerbase that would see this game to a bright future.

It's just hopeless anyway, being the smart person; with refraining from fighting fire with fire and instead using common sense or anything good for that matter, whatever you do is completely overruled solely because you have a skill level too high to be acceptable for other players opinions.
Having to stand people like these is becoming a weekly chore.

Denshin is a rather overpowered class.
QUOTE (Lucas
We're currently working on making Denshin less OP.
Nothing is worse for this mod than for newcomers to feel unwelcome, not to mention feeling offended. That lies in nobody's interest, and will in the long run only prevent the community and subsequently the mod itself from improving.
Just like Lille says; our behaviour towards others can always get better. However, that alone isn't sufficient, as standing up for others is just as important. Much like how one tackles bullying, standing idly by when the atrocity occurs will not make a difference.
It's ultimately our, the community's responsibility to keep the ship on a steady course. I encourage everyone, players and admins alike, to do the best you can in order to prevent events like these from ever becoming a reality again. Together, we can change this community's reputation for the better.
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."
I hear this about every game
You have obviously never met me lol
I suggest you find another server if the one you are one is giving you the wrong idea.

Also without calling names many players that are quite active here aswell behave horribly ingame.
I have an aristocratic smile and like to punch people
I have nothing against players that are better than me, it's the better players that refuse to work together towards the game's goal that aggravate me.
I figured that unfortunately often the easiest way is just not to communicate and ignore people. would be nice to have some more communication on servers but often bullies are a majority
I guess I have experienced said situations as well, I just learned to give a shirläy. Can still get pretty annoying though.
The thing of feeling superior or inferior is the main point I suppose. A bloke getting hit goes in rage-mode with the intention of hitting back especially if there isn't a risk of getting a broken nose. If they can't hit you they begin the trash talk to feel a bit better about their loss
As simple as that. As KOKORONOKAWARI said, there are griefer-free servers

--manual block

Obviously people shouldn't be hated on for being one gender but the racism is far more rampant than anything else and it strikes me as weird that you'd take this up as problem all the beta testers and everyone should highlight when racism is so fridgeing rampant on a lot of servers and is a far worse problem when you're talking about the community. Everyone says that their game's community sucks and perhaps it's something about gaming and/or the frustrating way pvk games can pan out that makes people rage but chauvanism isn't our biggest problem. Perhaps it's good that it's being adressed although I have no idea what would change, perhaps females that play are scared of using the mic because of what they've had to deal with before but from my POV racism should've been adressed first and to neglect that comes off as sloppy to me.
But what can you do EVERY COMMUNITY has some dicks mixed in there. There are many ways around them so
we use them! And then they leave suddenly you have an awesome game with some cool guys, get some steam
friends outta it. So what I am trying to say is out of all the games I have had in pvkii most have been good.
Vastly outnumbering the bad ones.
I have you are a good admin. A tad well...stern. A "strike" system would be good for the spec balancers.
Strike 1: Warning
Strike 2: Kick
Strike 3: Banned for an hour
Instead of the ol boot being the only option
I think the bad community reputation stems from this game being relatively a small game still -- the community isn't large, the game is in beta, and the silliness (which I enjoy very much so) stems the sort of pecking, stinging humor that often involves, albeit jokingly, insult.
My point being: once this game's community grows, it'll be brighter. As it is, I don't think it is anywhere near the worst that I have experienced -- and it seems to be getting better, at least, atm.
They do get warned which carries over in the future if they do it again.

but i will also agree that server owners need to enlist more trustworthy admins
as well ACTIVE root admins will help the situation
if you dont know what a root admin is ill explain it
a root admin (denoted in the sourcemod admin acess as Z)is a admin that has ALL sourcemod admin abilities available to them and are usually the highest on the hierarchy chart
a hierarchy file is what is used in the sourcemod to denote which admins have the power over other admins in terms of numbers (as well as their access restriction Z for root and A,B,C,D.... and so on for other abilities) the lower the number the lower the "rank". So a 11 admin has power over a 5 admin but not a 12 and up admin
so more 98:Z root admins that are trustworth and active could help the situation with the lower admins causing having and the root admin can deal with trouble makers.... but this is all up to server owners
I have been called some pretty bad names refering to me being a girl. One player in particular, after finding out I was a girl, harassed me the entire game until I got off the server because I couldn't take it anymore. I've been told that this is only a boys game and to get the hell out. Also, I have been told to get off of somebody's team because they don't think my skills are supposed to be used on gaming. Instead, he suggested I head back into the kitchen and make everyone on the team sandwiches instead.
I haven't been on the game in a few weeks because of some players behavior.
I also have another friend who installed the game and had never played before. After getting in game and attempting to learn the basics he was kicked from the server for "not knowing how to play" said one player. He said that after handling people like that, he will not play the game again.
I don't know what we can do about this, but all I know that my feelings have been hurt from the people on the servers.
More of that, as in Poland there is a "Woman's Day" today - Have a Very Nice Day
Agsma is me from the future
Which certenaily You are not.
Just kill them in my name if You would be so kind
shes just too tired to get to her pc haha
I remember my entry into the game, I was lucky to not meet upon a bad bunch of bags that time; they helped me instead with some basics. But I have had my fair share of douchebags in my playtime, but in a way, that makes me value the time I spend when I find a server with the good players.
Granted I play in the EU servers, so there might be a huge difference (I do not know) but my point of view lies in the same vicinity.
I think though what helped me most is the fact that I joined the game with a friend of mine, Oliver Shagnasty (Yes, an american on a EU Server) and Se, and that's what made it much easier to ignore the bad tempers of unsportly players.
FUF!
I guess those people aren't necessarily misogynists or nazis or whatever, they're just aiming for a weak spot... they're just immature trolls
I play on US/Aus servers and I can't say the atmosphere is that aggressive. You get the occasional lost russian kid hating on everything in the US servers, but they're soon kicked.

When I play pvk I prefer playing on the "Ponies" server or "Battleforce", if they are empty I usually leave the game again. I also have to say here that the pony server has greatly improved, thanks to Rainbolt & Co.
Why is this so bad? This is just a common joke against women, I doubt that he was serious at all. I think it's a funny one, but well, my humor is ...different. I like black humor and sarcasm, and if people don't get it, they are getting offended or whatsoever.
Why is it so difficult for you people to just ignore people and enjoy the game? How can simple chats make you feel uncomfortable?
we have...
it was in a malicious manor, beleive me it was
the fact of the matter is that no one wants to play with assholes, you may find it funny but the majority of people choose to stray away from those kind of people

- No doubts 'bout that!
- Reaching enemies beyond your weapon model isn't a problem(you're just bad at dodging!)
- Archer isn't overpowered
- Higher post count is equivalent to higher skill, experience and knowledge in-game
