This game is currently unavailable

I keep getting an error saying "This game is currently unavailable. Please try again later." when I try to launch pvk.

This happened after I moved a whole bunch of steam games from another drive. I also get this error on Team Fortress 2, Left4Dead 2 and Garry's Mod. I suspect it has something to do with game cache files, but I'm not sure which one.

Yes I have tried "terminate hl2.exe process" "fix." It does not help as hl2.exe is not running at the time.

Any help would be great, cheers.

    Reinstall pvk

I have the same error. It could be something with the security. Whenever I open the PVKII folder, I get an error saying I do not have permission to view the contents.

    Validate your pvkii.gcf with GCFScape.

@ Peepee I tried this with Garry's Mod (because it is the smallest of the games that aren't working) and had the same error. I'm thinking there's something in common with all the games that aren't working and it can't be fixed by reinstalling the games (possibly the source/orangebox engine?)

@ Gourdain I validated it with Steam's "Verify integrity of game cache" thingy. Would doing it with GCFScape yield different results? If so, then how do I validate the pvkii.gcf with GCFScape?

Edit: Doing a fresh install of everything Steam. I hope I can salvage my other games.

Edit2: Fresh reinstall worked, cheers everyone.

Did you keep your steamapps folder intact when you reinstalled Steam?

I kept the old one in a folder called "Broken Steam."
Now I'm transferring any non-source related games over to the new steamapps folder.
