2.4 Update Released!

Update: We're aware of the server lag issues and are working to fix it A.S.A.P. along with the voices not working in linux servers!

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand-hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! It's the Personality Patch!

After many hours of hard graft below deck, after training with our axes for many days and nights without a stop for a drink or a toilet break, and after months of bloody toil at the big white forge in the sky, the 2.4 update is finally here!

We've been blabbering about it for months, so here's one last bit of gabber for you to absorb whilst Steam updates the game for ya. This update is chiefly about new unique voices for each class, the new game mode, Trinket Wars, the return of an old favourite map and a shipload of bugfixes.

Oh, and there's a couple more things.

A wee video for your viewing pleasure, featuring the Huscarl playing Trinket Wars on good ol' Saints, which has come back to us for this update:

The Huscarl is voiced by the talented Stig 'DragonNOR' Sydtangen, who is a damn fine actor, an accomplished modder, real-life Viking, and boss of the awesome-looking mod Operation Black Mesa.

    It's saying that I'm missing the maps when I try to join any server...I went into, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\staminix\pirates, vikings, and knights ii\pvkii\maps and it's empty except for non-official maps.

    Maps are in a gfc file. I think the server hasnt been updated yet

    That's because official maps are in .gcf files. If you are missing an official map, you'll have to install again I'm afraid.

    EDIT: Ninja'd by J-co once more. sad.gif Oh, and there is a difference between missing maps and a different version. It's probably like J-co said.

    I tried picking a custom map says server uses diff class tables, guess restarting the server wasn't enough to make it update XD Have to wait on Hempy to wake up =x

    I think the new voices are great biggrin.gif Can't really play much at the moment but I spectated a couple of matches and they fit just fine IMO. New weapon sounds are great too!

    New achievements!! I suggested the final strike achievement once 2.3 was released and it was likely to be in an update. I will come back to this thread again some other time because

    You guys forgot to bind a key to Voice Menu 3. The voices are great btw. Good Job! Cant wait for the 2 other classes.

    More tested after restarting server...

    The only voices that work are death sounds, keg throws. No voice commands, kill taunts, special taunts, parrot taunts, etc work. Are other servers having this problem?

    Everyone seems to be getting a lag problem including myself, even on servers where my ping is under 100?

    rofl I was just about to see if eternal silence had anyone online as I had gotten bored of pvkii, and noticed pvkii was updating, and it took me a few seconds to comprehend the gravity of that (other games update all the time and I don't know wth they update).

    Yes. Somehow something is wrong with the patch. The game lags terribly. I heard the voices for the first few rounds I played, but now they aren't working anymore. It's just like Kokoronokawari described.

    Massive lag and voice problems. Mh. I wonder where the source for that problem is.
