Does blender

do maps too?
As you read the subject its also a question... so i was wondering. Does blender just do skins or does it do maps too? and is blender what the team uses or do they use something else?

eh I think blender but I have no knowledge of those things

Most people use 3dsmax or XSI for source modelling. I personally use MS3D because I know how to use it from my HL1 experience. :X

I don't think anyone on the team uses blender. And you don't make skins in a modelling program. JRocket uses 3dsMax and also Mudbox http://www.jrporter.com/

    Maps - Map Editor.
    Models - Modelling Package
    Skins - 2d Art Package

The only skinning done in the modelling program is taking the 3d model you have and unwrapping the faces to a flat image that you then use as a guid to do your texturing. It is referred to as UV Map/Unwrapping/etc.
