Dodging swings - PVKII has realistic weapon 'arcs' so it's always best practice to move INTO the direction your enemy is swinging; this isn't a guarantee that you won't get hit, but many enemies don't take advantage of the momentum bonus by looking into their swings!
Escape blocking - If you're surrounded, on low(ish) health and looking to get away then you may need the valuable skill of knowing when to escape block. It's important to remember blocking is much better than getting hit in almost every situation; even if you get the wrong direction or a fully charged hit breaks your block; it'll still do less damage than if you took a full-on hit.
Blocking slows you down however, so it's important to know WHEN to block. If you know the maps to a decent level and are aware of your surroundings, make use of jumping backwards + block (this has the advantage of not slowing you down). If you're lucky you'll get a couple of perfect parries and even if you don't; you've saved yourself a lot of potential damage. This works great for parrying classes like skirmisher and gestir, who often spam uncharged attacks and will save you from instant death at the hands of heavier classes like Zerker and HK. [N.B This assumes you use auto-block so make sure to 'reset' your block after every attack to ensure the block is in the correct direction.]
Range dodging (for non-shield classes) - Due to the velocity and nature of PVKII's ranged weapons, most aiming is based upon leading your target. Many people using ranged tend to get into a 'pattern' of shooting e.g. Charge ranged weapon, lead target, fire, reload etc. If you can anticipate the way your enemy shoots, you can disrupt the rhythm of their shooting and make them miss! But how to do this? I find there's three main ways -
1. Move a little - If you only have one foe using ranged and you need to close on them it's best to stay predictable. Keep on a fairly-easy-to-predict course and wait until your enemy is about to fire. Just before they do this; move a small bit out of the way. If your enemy is overconfident, they won't have correctly led you and will therefore miss! It's possible to do this with more than one ranged foe but results may vary
2. Move a lot - If you're facing a lot of range it's best to be unpredictable. My theory is that if you don't know where you're going; then the enemy won't either! Make use of jumping on things, fake going on well-established paths, going for the odd stab, waiting round corners and jumping over peoples heads on uneven ground. If you're near a chest area it's also good practice to chuck a chest out of the score zone if you have time; this will usually mean one of your pursuers stops to chuck it back in for points. Although this does give them a free point or two, it gives you the opportunity for special-building hits or at least ties up one enemy for a while. Don't be afraid to use some creative escape-blocking in conjunction with this!
3. Do you have a tell? - A clever ranged foe will be able to see through your pitiful attempts at dodging! But how!? That's right, you have a tell! If a ranged foe waits until you jump before leading you or clocks on to what you're doing if you use tactic 1, then they'll be able to more accurately predict your movements. You can counter this by changing your dodging pattern and observing when your enemy takes his shot!
Disclaimer: PVKII is brimming with ranged and none of the above tactics are a guarantee that you won't get hit in the face with a random axe, javelin or arrow. Tactics do not protect from excessively lucky or brilliant shots
Lastly; Don't fear the close-ranged range! - Almost all ranged weapons have a severe reduction when fired (with the exception of the skirmisher pistol which does laughable dmg anyway). Too often in public I see heavy knights fearing pistols or people afraid to PUNISH gestirs who have javelins out. Similarly, many archers will stick to their ranged weapon even when you are stabbing them in the face. If you can afford to take the damage then do it!

Parrot is also fantastic for sniping out a nearly dead, but fast enemy who is running away
Observe players who are better than you. Approach each opponent as an individual, learn their habits. Everyone has habits, some people just have a larger repertoire of strategies. Learn what they are and head them off, problem solved. Just don't forget to keep adapting. Learn what makes you play worse/better. Do you just seem to get worse and worse as you get angry? Try and focus on keeping a level head, because people are actively trying to exploit your anger. There are no rules of engagement, honourable play is for your grandmother. Anyone who complains that you are being cheap is either unskilled or is playing a head game with you.
I got accused for hacking when I managed to kill a full health axe-sword berserker (one of the vikings top player) as a Archer with the butterknife.
"Sometimes its better to stay silent and let people think that you are an idiot, rather than speaking out and actually prove that you are one." - Someone
mm I tend to get accused of hacking quite a bit as well. And that's mostly as an archer as well. And generally when I pulled the butterknife out. Guess people don't know it's not as weak as they think.
Also got accused as a skirmisher for having an aimbot. As I kept hitting the guy with the flint-lock and I hardly missed xD
But I generally get accused by someone who then 1-3 deaths later decides to rage-quit.
I also get regularly accused of hacking while playing archer. I always ask what hack they think I am using, and always get no response and then they rage-quit.
I take accusations of cheating as a compliment. All it means is that people think you're good, but they don't know how rephrase the words: ZOMG U RULZ!
I was accused of hacking yesterday after perfect parrying a guy trying to get the last hit in. "OH SO YOU WERE ABLE TO PP A FULLY CHARGED ATTACK, HMM?" It wasn't fully charged, it didn't even glow..
I get the aimbot thing aswell. People are so lame when they get butthurt about dying.
Wise Chinese proverb say "He who pays for porn has failed at life."
Yes birds are weak to rock, ice and electric attacks. However they are resistant to grass and bug attacks, also even immune to ground and laggy player attacks.
If you hit a parrot inside a town, the guards are going to attack you or make you pay a fine ( Whichever you choose ).
Well,I had this strategy for the professional team(You need to be to execute these moves) Knights Formation(needs training) Heavy knights crouching/standing in front blocking the path to the archers all of them shield blocking(Problem lies if you are outflanked) Archers provide cover fire at the back(If it is done nicely, you can even reload a crossbow until your ammo runs out) This should work for Holy Grail and Booty.(Make sure archers are on a higher area than the HKs)(For kegs, break rank and seek cover) Vikings Formation(Needs training) Huscarl and Gestir all in front crouching and all shield blocking Remaining Huscarls and Gestir all providing cover fire with javelins and throwing axes When ranged weapons ran out, berserkers lead the charge forward to attack! Pirates tactics(needs training) Skirimishers throw 2x kegs in a certain area. The captains release their parrots. The skirimishers use half of their piston ammo on the enemy, captains use their blunderbluss captain and skirimisher all charge and attack(2 on one enemy)(one hit first, another attack after the first hit) Camp near Food/armour/ammo spawns(For holy grail only) Always stick together!Remember THAT Gangbang is always BEST! If you die,for booty, reform in groups of two or three and move out! If you die,for holy grail, ask in team chat where are your teammates and the target!
i'd like to see you execute one of these strategies man, sounds like a shitload of work if you ask me

That was probably me, and FYI it was fully charged, FYI if I ever said that you were hacking it was a joke cuz I are 1337
The Viking Horde - Simply pick up a few buddies and run round the map; great on HG and Territory mode, not so useful on LTS. Spamming 'you are no man' is optional.
Change the name to "Viking Rape Train" and it's good.
Comments
Or just start playing Berserker, be good and rape everything :>
Or be Gez as skirmisher which is annoying...
How about some dodging tips?

My other thread with team tactics wasn't getting any love so I've decided to clip it onto the first post.
Yep really really nice
People think the butterknife is weaker, but when you compare it like this it makes sense:
Butterknife vs Toothpick
Speaks for itself, no?

Which get eaten by horses
Horses eat parrots!? I can't wait till the man at arms gets to send his attack horse to eat those pesky parrots!
You mean the flying carrots? I plan to skin the parrots though! (see what I did there
