Sorry for not being around for like...a few years...and I want to congratulate you on the new update. PVKII finally feels as fun and perfect as it did in 2.0. It's silly enough to laugh with, and skillful enough to know I lost because I had poor timing. Although I'm still mad about ONE particular change which I don't think I'll ever get over...(detonating an active keg that a skirmisher lit and get the kills for it instead of the skirmisher that lit it)

I have Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660. While PVK2 still runs very well on it even with the fancy shaders, most modern games do not.

I also have a NVIDIA EVGA Geforce GTX 660 Ti that I've been meaning to use for another computer. I was looking all over for it only to remember I put it in my dad's old computer.

    I also have a Palit GeForce 9600GT.

I want to do two more computer builds, one with my dad's old computer which I believe is a Q6600 and use the 9600GT and then another with a i7 4770K I have using the GTX 660 Ti. It would be nice to be able to do performance testing.

Yesterday I made this question during our test but I got it unclear: is it worth investing in a RX 480? I've heard a lot of polarized opinions about that series of graphics cards. I take both Digital Foundry and 3KliksPhillip as my own tech advisors and, despite both saying it's worth looking after that graphics card, at least the 8GB version, because of its price/quality balance, a lot of people complain about it not being efficient in terms of energy consumption compared to other cards of the same performance. I have no plans to play the latest hottest games on the year and it has more to do with running programs which don't reach their full potential with a Core I5 processor alone.

I haven't messed with an AMD\ATI card in a long time, but in my book any decent investment into a dedicated graphics card is going to be worlds above the Intel integrated graphics. Looking at the card on Newegg, it definitely seems well worth it and is mostly future proof if it's not your goal to run the latest titles at max settings.

It has an HDMI 2.0 port as well as 3 displayport ports, so if you ever wanted to opt for a higher frequency monitor (such as 144Hz), you could do so without having to use a dual link DVI-D cable (assuming the monitor supports it) It's also of really reasonable quality as well.

The issues I ran into in using AMD\ATI years ago was the poor drivers, but that's probably changed over time, and it may have had to do with my particular use cases. I can't really say a whole lot more since I have no actual experience with the card, and I have had very brief encounters with AMD\ATI. Maybe someday I'll just go ahead and try out an all AMD build or something.

I'm a PC enthusiast so my setup is generally on the extreme side so the card I'm currently using is the Tri-X OC Radeon R9 290X / http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202079

Originally I had crossfire with these cards, but at the time it was crushing everything so I felt I was paying 600 for a paper weight so I returned it.

I'm currently looking at a 1080 or another Radeon card such as the 390x, I plan on water cooling, but I'm not sure if I want to invest in crossfire / sli again, when I do plan on purchasing I'll mostly make my decision based of benchmarks. Previously I wasn't looking much at the future, but with 4k being here I want as much power as I can get.

The reason I typically use AMD cards is for eyefinity, I know nvidia has surround, but it always felt really easy to setup and configure so I never switched.

And Agsma for 250 you're getting quite a bit of power for the cost, typically 8g video cards are pretty pricey. And from the benchmarks and reviews I've watched it looks like a great card worth the asking price. I think I was even debating getting two of these for a small upgrade in the mean time til I do a larger system upgrade.
