300 Model Pack

THIS IS SPARTA!
This forum area needs more life, so ive started work on a 300 model pack, which will replace the heavy knight.

So far I've done the shield. The sword and spear are soon to come!

    Yeah pretty good i liked the idea when you approached me with it. I think PVK II needs some more custom content

    make the normals more bumpy like in the movie

    they werent that smooth ;p other than that its nice biggrin.gif i want to see a 300 player model for knights some time ;p

    I haven't actually done the normal maps or anything yet, and i need to tinker around with the specular maps to make it alot less shiny.

    So far I have modelled and uv mapped the sword. After skinning that i can do the view model for the sword/shield, and then tinker around with the specular/bumps.

    Awesome, this would fit really well in my 300 map, though the vikings are the spartans.
    So you should make it replace the berserker and huscarl, it would be weird anyway to use the knight taunts with a spartan, the viking taunts fit way better.

    the vikings dont have a shield. I really cannot use these models as viking replacements, Knights best suit it.

    Also: Update! Ive finished making the spear now, ill put it ingame and make some screenshots.

    As for the sword/shield combo, ive shrunk down the shield alot more so its now possible to view over the shield a bit more whilst blocking.

    looks very good! But as long as you don't make the soldiers of sparta themselfs. Did you noticed that in the movie every single man in sparta is muscled? even the carpenter and the baker are bodybuilders.

    Well, the first version of my modelpack is done! If anything is missing please let me know and I will update the zip.

    Includes:
    - Sword & Shield View Model and World Models
    This replaces the Heavy Knight Sword & Shield

    - Spear View Model and World Models
    This replaces the Heavy Knight Longsword

    Ive never actually seen practical use for custom skins, apart from sven coop which uses them extensivly it would be nice to see a server that has some of these custom skins on them.

    Correction, the berserker doesn't have a sheild, in the next patch of pvk there will be a viking with shield and will be a MUCH better base for the spartans.
    And what's the use of this pack if you can't use it in a 300 map?

    Obviously I dont have the new patch yet. The use of this pack is for people who just want a little difference to things. Maybe after the patch comes out Ill change it to replace the new viking class.

    Probably, but it'll take a while til that's added to pvk, in the near future I vote for Huscarl.

    And the Heavy Knight can be an Immortal, and the Archer just a persian archer.

    Ok after testing it i believe the spear needs a bit more somthing not quite sure what the sword is fine and shield is good. buuuut the spear seems a bit lacking somewhere

    An idea, maybe you should make the shield a little bit smaller so it blocks less of the view in first person.

    I think that's a rather good suggestion to decrease the shields size. At the very least, move the shield down or to the left a little bit to open up the screen.
