Forum banners

I've been thinking about ways to create some activity in the forums, and recently I thought the idea borrowing the forum banners feature from YouChew to this website. Ironically I had this idea by the time the topic dedicated to banners on YouChew got locked because the site ran out of slots for new banners and new members would concentrate in this thread and place one hundred of those in the same page.
But yeah, banners. The first time I mentioned them was when I was working on the new character poses for the website and had the idea of placing them in three themed banners. The dev team and testers liked them a lot. I believe creating banners in the forum's header, with some coding and such, could entertain all members and give more life to this place.
The banners should have a bit of restrictions, like the resolution and the quality of the images (many banners made by new members from YouChew had the dreadful sin of having the pics stretched out like if they were made in MS Paint in one minute), not to mention that the banners should represent something relatable to the community.

Here's my concept banners from a year ago.

I am 100% all for something like this. Would love to see the forums even slightly caught up to the main site. Even if temporarily, this would be great like www.mapcore.org

Sounds good, the forums seem so plain and simple. Wouldn't mind some banners in the back or some colour changes.

    I love simple, austere designs.

Banners are boring, you see them one day and in the next day, see it again. Then slowly you realize how boring it is to always see it and see it, it's just there and you don't care about it.

Nobody ever thought of that? There's never a credit for banners, "veterans" are the special case.

What if we put the banner inside the spoiler?
in that case you can see it if you want, then no need to see it everytime I post.

Obviously it needs to have an account option to disable banners, if someone doesn't like them. As for the banners themselves being repetitive, the more they are placed in rotation, the less likely you see the same thing over and over again.

I didn't mean your banner (which is more like a signature)

Banners can be very annoying for those people with terrible internet, an option to disable it would be nice, but I'm not sure if I understand your "account option" idea, I suppose you mean that a member can disable it, but not a guest? Bad idea, anybody should be able to disable it.

A banner that changes regularly (but not on screen, only when you refresh) might reduce the boringness that is the repetitiveness of it, so that's indeed a good idea. Hell, an animated one might be more fun, I can do APNGs and GIFs.

Oh yes, animated GIFs will definitely make these a lot of fun to make.
As for guests seeing banners, YouChew moved to a new forum board, recently, but before that it used the same board as the PVK forums; I'm not sure if it worked the same way but I believe anyone could disable them.
