Right, so I was digging around in some old backups and I found pretty much all
the custom maps from back in the days of 1.1 and such. Originally I thought I lost all these maps. And their original downloads also aren't up anymore. So I was quite happy when I found them.
So I've tested these to see if they still work, and there were some that crashed or where the game mode was broken. but a surprising number of maps still worked. Then there are the really crappy maps that shouldn't be named. But I managed to salvage 26 maps that still work and don't suck. Some of these are true classics, I even found some of the very first custom maps PVKII ever had. And this is just a selection, I found a lot more maps but many of them are also still in rotation, so I will not include those here (maps like desertcliff, holyground and the classic desertruin).
So here are some screens of those 26 for those who are feeling nostalgic. Here is a download soon so server owners can bring back these awesome classics!
DM Big Traps
I think this was a port from Counter Strike or something, but it was amazing fun. There is a missing texture somewhere though.
DM Tropic Enhanced
This map was fairly fun, another port.
This is the original dragon test map made by Lhorkan and Jahhur, amazingly the dragon still works. But I am missing the boatcar models so they don't work at the moment. Maybe I can still dig them up somewhere.
A remake of an uglier map, this was a fun map.
Ugly, but amazing fun. I have some very good memories from this map (the tops of the towers are the booty zones).
The first map to feature drivable vehicles in PVKII, it wasn't very stable but still lots of fun. Like I said before I still need to find the boat models to get them to work though.
This was actually a really goog territory map, loads of fun and also some very good memories.
This is probably one of the more memorable of the old maps. It used to be Booty Tag back in the day. which means it's now Trinket Wars. I think the game mode should still work though.
Another really fun map, territory.
As far as I can remember, I do think this was one of if not the first custom map in PVKII. And pretty good too.
