    I don't remember popup/news on steam for mods, after 1st wave mods (insurgency, age of chivalry, etc...). Valve gone into srs business, I don't think they would bother to give news to mods.

    Smashball had a new pop-up with a picture of their player model with a backdrop of something like one of their maps all fancy dancy, and had a link to go to the mod page on steam
