What is the purpose of adding friends on this forum? It doesnt give you any additional features?
Also why is there no online chat on this forum instead of sending messages or writing on someones page?
We should be allowed to chat on this forum, not to everyone as most people online as they wouldnt like be
disturbed but just to our friends online to give it a purpose of adding friends on this forum.

PS good try
Since this is a game based on a mod of HL2 which both require Steam to use, you should exchange SteamID's or find each other on the PVKII official group and add each other and thus you can chat with friends.
If you would like a more fulfilling chat with everyone, please join us in IRC.

The main purpose of my idea of implementing chat on this forum was not actually to talk to friends in general, but
instead of sending messages while a person is online and waiting a few minutes, you could just chat to your friends
you see online on this forum or better still to anyone who is online on this forum like MIRC, although I have used MIRC
and it wasnt great as I was talking to Lisa once but she told me she had no idea why she was on it.
Steam is what I mainly use but when asking Lord Trilobite about his Midgard server,he didnt accept my invite as he said that
he doesnt use Steam which lead to my sending PMs a good few times to him, and thats where I thought of my idea.
No probs anyway with not implementing chat on this forum.
Not much use in it, I almost never host.
From our PM.
Correct me if I am wrong but dont you need to use Steam to host your server?
Hes Paladin.
????
?
But he sees no use in the point that you just want to have him in the friendlist for joining the server and some random chatting.
I have an aristocratic smile and like to punch people
he doesnt use Steam which lead to my sending PMs a good few times to him, and thats where I thought of my idea.
Isn't that just needlessly spamming him?
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but if the current system and it's frustrating few-second long pause doesn't prevent you from spamming a respectable person who clearly doesn't care, then wouldn't a system such as the one you suggest be far, far worse for everyone except for Paladin?

I dont/wouldnt spam anyone, all I meant was just instead of sending message after message you would
have chat instead, in my example of the midgard server of finding out information about it.

Exactly.
From our PM.

So? I still don't see your point. I have steam on by default. That doesn't mean I take the time to start up my pvkII server every fucking time.
Yes now you get it.
request as I persumed you used steam to host your midgard server, so that when you
are online and hosting the server, I could connect to your server on steam directly but then it needed a password
but luckly enough I asked J-CO for the password to it which I am a friend of on steam.
Uncertainity Questions
1.In the PM you said "I rarely host".Do you have to use Steam to host.(Y/N).
2.Take a random situation for example. If I wasnt friends with the others playing on your server
I wouldnt be able to join your server because I needed the password to join it, so why wasnt the
friend request accepted in the first place. If it was then this argument would have never existed.
I see someone wrote that maybe it is because you dont want chatting in general.Thats fine with me as
I dont talk in general that much unless the other person feel comfortable with it.If I did you could always
just get rid of me on your friends list and even block me.

If a server has a password, and you're not specifially invited, means you shouldn't try to get in, it's rude. Passwords are there for a reason. Why do you even bring up steam? Without steam it's impossible to host, so you're questions really make no sense whatsoever. What's this obsession you have with my server anyway? I haven't had it online for months.
This is getting tiresome.
1) not knowing what persumed means
2) not understanding a single thing paladin tries to explain
?
You're being a little persumptious there mr. Trilobite.
Maybe next time you should be a little clearer about how open a game is. Putting a password restricted to the few people you want to play is hardly a way of saying to everyone else "you're not invited".
I completely agree with whatever point Paladin is trying to make. Theres no denying the validity of that point. Absoloutely no way. Thumbs up 100% my man.
This man speaks truth.
