Coin Trail was a simple to implement feature, It has nothing to do with the time it takes to patch. It is a combination of things that take time and not really one specific change or addition.

I enjoyed being able to SNEAK out with chests, it allows even archers to be able to tote a chest back... now it's not a stealthy/good planning game (send in skirmishers to distract and grab a chest), but just a brute force game (roll in with a bunch of heavies and have them escort your blinging ass back.

No offence but: Stop whining about it, Spooky. Just experience it first when 2.3 comes out. And if it's too easy to get it back, the team can easely fix the time the coins stay on the ground Or even remove it. That would be an easy and a fast fix, thanks to Steamworks

I assume the team will implement some features with this.
First would probably be a fade time where the coin trail will vanish after a period of time maybe otherwise it could potentially cause extra lagg in bigger games as I assume they are some sort of prop not sure.
Also perhaps they will make a "percent chance" coins will drop so it's not a consistent and steady trail so sometimes you could maybe sneak the chest away? Plus also if they make a "walk" speed with the chests (I know you are already slow but possibly with toggling walk you could move slower) maybe they won't spill at all? Similarly if you jump with a chest a whole bunch of coins should fall.
These are just details though that can be tweaked later.

Might I also suggest removing the player deaths from the score board to discourage k/d ratio whores. This combined the objective based scoring will put those "pros" in their place.
The only thing on the scoreboard you see from other players is their total score which is a combination of many factors. Different actions in the game give more or less points. Generally people actively working on objectives will have the higher scores because some of their components give more points than a kill which is 1 point and there is more opportunity for points.

thais is truly epic. i think that will increadibly boost the popularety of objectives. this might be one of the best features of 2.3, however i dont know the other things which 2.3 is going to add to the game.
Oh wow...I am amazingly and deeply impressed. This doesnt look like the old PVK II, this looks like an amazing update, bigger than 1.1 to 2.0 big. Great job, amazing job. By the way, im loving the realistic blood on weapons, facial expressions, talking, and of course the particle system. You guys really went all out giving it 110%. Keep up the great work. A+!!
