I think that PVK should have cavalry in order to make the game more complete ( take the example of Mount&Blade, which I can't wait for the multiplayer expansion), however implementing horses to make cavalry requires a lot of work and since the developers are a small team and I congratulate them for their huge work so far, they should discuss this matter very carefully. And yes, we can compare the PVK team to the Mount&Blade team, because the Mount&Blade was once a free downloadable game like PVK, and who knows, maybe we'll see someday PVK in the stores and known as the best Medieval FPS online
Cavalry will NEVER be added in PVKII. What other source game do you know that has mounts? Source is good for small->medium maps, and PVK EXCELS at close combat.
There is no comparison to Mount & Blade, which is designed with large fields, lower graphics, and so far, only ONE PLAYER at a time.
Unless somebody wanted to make a large, flat, undetailed map that featured cavalry charging back and forth, basically being a melee combat sim but with faster run speeds, PVKII isn't going to have cavalry, no matter how the devs tease. Even if possible, it would blow.
Like janrok said, the PVK team should only stick with their main objectives/features ( completing the 9 classes, graphic improvements, etc..), as for huge features like cavalry, they must be put aside and only discuss them in a very far away future, of course if they are possible.
Is it possible to make it so, that when you kill someone with an axe/javelin/arrow the weapon stays in the "dead" ragdoll, until the weapon is retrieved or something. Because it's really strange to see a thrown axe disappear in the back of the enemy and it's probably even more so with the javelin.
a stupid question: when you hit a player with the javelin and the player is still alive, will the player go on living with the spear in his head? I will look very strange wouldnt it?

Like, it didn't look strange when a Skirmisher had an axe stuck in his forehead?
Will Turner: You didn't beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I'd kill you. Jack Sparrow: That's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?
I think it would, it allready happens with throwing axes, arrows and bolts. It would probably add a new laugh factor if a Skirmy is walking around with a javalin in his head
it s already the case with arrrows... By the tx for gestirs screenshots, I ve been waiting for them since so long Since 2.3 is taking a little longer that expected to be released, I wonder if there ll be other new classes ? ;-)
so, wait. What do you mean when you say; "Currently implemented is an optional defensive mode, where your readied spear will be much more effective, but your lack of maneuverability will make you a sitting duck for ranged attacks. "
Optional defensive mode? And after a year you've only implemented the optional defensive mode?

Gestir is Guests, in old norse and icelandic
the name should be Gestr wich is singular.

also the Seio-kona should be called Seidkona or Sei
Maybe as a gamemode when everything is finished? Horse racing?
If so, then what is spear realy needed for... except this (
But that's a nice idea. However, I don't think any pirate has a horse.

Yeah when you carry chests in booty maps you leave a trail of gold behind you. Check out the older news posts for more info.
Have you played pvk_dragon_attack yet?
And also there is a concept game mode called "Slay the Dragon" (or something like that), wich is in my opinion a great idea!

I was told not to spoil it, but... 2.3 will indeed release the remaining 12 classes.
Don't tell anyone else though!
I'm really sick of answering this
