how to make a fog?

like in frostbite
yoho,

I need a fog at my cliff like in frostbite that you cant see the bottom of the skybox.
I tried a func_dustcloud but that was crappy.

Can anyone help me? smile.gif

    There's a fog entity that controls it all.

    if you mean env_fog_controller I dont want the fog everywhere
    just at the cliff
    that it looks like the map is up in the sky
    it should look more like clouds

    Create a brush where you want the effect to go. Effect being clouds in this case.

    Texture it with NoDraw

    Then Tie To Entity

    Select func_dustcloud

    Now change your peramitors tell you get the effect your looking for.

    Example: test out your settings in a test mini map. wink.gif

    He already said he didn't like fucn_dustcloud, but that's pretty much teh only other way.

    yeah, well from what I gathered earlier in steam friends is he couldn't get it to work. So he rage quite on trying it. lol


    any ways another way you could do it is:

    Aplie a skybox textured brush near where you want the cloud effect and then place a sky dome in the 3dskybox.

    Other wise create a scrolling cloud texture and place it on a brush.

    But you can also use a lot of env_smokestack pick a cloud like sprite and have them spawn and emit at a 90 degree angel.

    In Frostbite the cliffs are in the 3d skybox and use the skybox fog settings.
