CMeshDX8

When I try to join a game, I get in for a few seconds then it boots me to desktop with this error:

CODE
                       Engine Error
failed to lock index buffer in CMeshDX8::LockIndexBuffer.

PVKII was working fine yesterday, but not today. It seems to come and go with all my Source games - one day they're fine, the next I get that error, namely Dark Messiah which worked for one level then I got the error of DOOM!

Does anyone know a fix for this?

Yeah. Thought dx9 was a requirement for source engine games...

The thing is, I have a DX9 card. Geforce 6200 LE 256mb. And no, the requirment for Source games is a DX8 card.

Even better: the requirement for a source game is a DirectX 7 card.

Nevertheless: do you have the -dxlevel 81 launch option enabled ?

Hmm, do you have the latest drivers and the latest dx Version?
