Don't mind the fancy title, this is just "El Negro's Stuff".
Everything I do for PVKII will be read here. This was actually made for developers and testers only, but then I figured that some other people might want to know.
I won't say ALL I do, mostly because some of the stuff is just minor.
So, a summary of what I do
Since I'm an "Authorized Creator", I don't have any goals in mind, this is what "Developers" have, so you could consider me as an independent developer I suppose.
My main focus is on textures and anything related to it, especially on Weapons and Characters. Sometimes I get into other textures, such as on maps.
I'm a person who's interested in "innovation", so most of my textures will be about modernization and such. The great example would be at how I made it so ALL weapons have an RTNL texture and use the shader format "VertexLitBeckman". This way, you can see some sexy shine on metal, real-looking gold and even dirt particles on clothing and such.
So, in short, you can say that my main focus is to modernize PVKII's textures, and that's what I do indeed.
Ask me whatever you want, but please don't bring the so-called "Drama" here
. I only induce drama, not create it, YOU create it.
Most of this stuff is considered finished, but I can't say if it's "ready for release", that is for the "Public Opinion" to stand about.
My stuff will be ordered by the day, month and year I've done somethin'.
- Improved crosshairs.
The current crosshairs always disgusted me, but I NEVER got to trying to improve them even though I could from the very start I started playing PVKII. I don't know why I never did it until now.
Here are some comparisons;
"Archer's Crosshair" NEW
"Sharpshooter's Rifle" NEW
"Circle Crosshair" (As seen on Sharpshooter's Fancy Flintlock, Skirmisher's Flintlock and Captain's Blunderbuss) NEW
- Improved Water Splashes.
Came in mind after Felis mentioned them. Apparently, PVKII has its own method to make "water splashes", you step in them and you see the splashes.
I always thought this was something all Source Engine games had, but still.
Problem is, the splashes are incredibly ugly. It's just pure-white.
So for that, I tried to improve it. In the next update, you should see them a lot more subtle and as if they were real, a small "impulse wave" on each step, with the specific water splash itself.
- Re-imagined Crossbow & Bow.
I never really liked the original crossbow and bow, it was very low on details.
So I went ahead and gave it details, such as making wood look like it's used, metal shine like real metal and gold look and shine like real gold.
Then, the wood just didn't fit, so I made it darker and I think it just looks better, it even fits with Archer's gloves as one fellow Beta Tester noticed. (This was not the intention, the "make bow fit with archer's gloves", but I think it's a nice bonus).
