Beta 3.4 Update Release Notes


It's (about) time for another PVKII update!

This update features new gameplay features, game mode improvements, new HUD elements, plentiful of bug fixes and new achievements with the art contributed by our community!

Remember, our Developer, Creator, and Contributor groups continue to evolve to help deliver you more content more frequently than ever before. We have many great things planned and in progress as we work hard towards a complete, well polished game. Please view our public Trello boards to become more involved with development and share your voice with others in the community! Trello is a very handy visual tool we have been using more and more for our game. Note you will need a Trello account to vote and that any information on the trello boards is subject to change. Feel free to vote on Trello cards, provide feedback in our forums, make suggestions for our mod!

  • [background=transparent]If mp_roundtime_dm is 0, round is considered as "match" and it will use maps time limit[/background]
  • [background=transparent]Team Deathmatch: Added overtime on draw, default 2 minutes. Can be changed or turned off with mp_overtime_dm[/background]
  • [background=transparent]info_pvk will now be created with default properties if it's missing in the map [/background]
  • [background=transparent]Added mp_dm_oldrules for enabling old deathmatch rules[/background]

    Nice! I can't wait until my download time, which is 1 AM- Excede's free data time - I'm itching to try on the update, but 20Gs can be ate up fast if one doesn't watch it, especially if its shared by 3 people.
    The third person view and all-weapons special for the SS especially sound nice. Can't wait to try out the new head shot sound on the HK too.

    Are you serious, this was the update? Dunno, did i miss something? Guys, the vikings need their ranged class so you can balance the teams. You can do it. Deer hunter theme. Use german words, "Blattschuss" sounds awesome. I wanna play more PVK. Dark Souls pales in comparison if you ask me.

    Ah thank goodness, we needed an animator to assist with Bondi. Please, show us your work so that we can consider you to be the team's main animator. That way, Bondi can come out just a "little" bit faster.

    tl;dr: we work with what resources we have and prioritize with them.

    How does Third Person work? is it like Star Wars Battlefront where it's binded to a key so you can switch back and forth by a press of a button or do i need to type somesort of command?

    That aswell i'm not really a fan of, but like everything it's going to take sometime to get use to then it'll start to fit in! Jam blood for example i'm not really liking but guess i need to get use to it, unless there is a way to change it?

    Thirdperson's default key should be 'i' Though Steam's cloud sync, which we have now, may screw that up, it can be set in the options.

    Alternatively, you can use togglethirdperson or cl_thirdperson console commands.

    • Sharpshooter's gold looks more like real gold. Also improved the shading on his hair. Vest should look a lot better through lighting
    • Gestir's Javelin's normal map improved, as well as the Spear
    • Sharpshooter and Skirmisher should have a better alpha, making hair look more natural and Skirmisher's ripped shirt less "sharp edgy"
    • Man-At-Arms:
    • His padded leather now has a matte "shine"/look to it
    • Gloves now look similar to as seen in third-person
    • Buckler has been improved, should now look like used Steel
    • Crossbow has been improved, should not look incredibly reflective even in the dark

    An update has been released for PVKII. This is a very minor hotfix update.
    • sv_airaccelerate and sv_accelerate are now accessible again. These are primarily used for surf maps. This will allow surf maps to function properly again.
    • ambient_fmod sounds now use a linear square rolloff model. Simply put, this means that maps that use the ambient_fmod entity to replace ambient_generic should sound much more alike. This allows mappers to switch from using ambient_generics with a lot less tweaking.
    • Fixed crash caused by spawning items (such as parrots) that can kill you. A bug had made it so if you were to spawn parrots with console commands, and they were to kill you, you would crash. This is now fixed.
    • Shields will now block explosive projectile damage properly. A bug had been created that caused shields to block explosive projectile damage completely. (Sharpshooter special and Captain special) They are now blocked properly and only reduce damage, not completely block it.
