Here's a fun little Arena/Last Man Standing map for ya folks.

In a nutshell:
Basically, it's about hopping on floating debris, while trying to kill your opponent.
And if you decide to download the non-cheap version, you'll also have to look out for a goddamn dragon that tries to push you off the debris.

KNOWN BUGS:
- The dragon resets his "flap" animation everytime he turns. Looks sort of silly. Looking for a way to fix it.
- Vikings sometimes spawn stuck. Wait a second or try jumping, and you'll get free.

Download:
Due to the large size of the dragon model, i've made two versions of the map.
A cheap one without the dragon, and the regular one with the dragon. The cheap one also has loads smaller skybox.

Originally the cheap one had a dragon made out of brushes but it ended up looking like a pig from minecraft with metal wings. icon_evil.gif

Sorry, no more cheap version. I lost it, but the regular version should be downloadable till MediaFire dies.

Oh and the Dragon model is from the game Dark Messiah : Might & Magic. If you don't already have it, GET it. The best damn FPS Hack&Slash on the planet.

    I know, i know.
I was thinking of making one from brushes originally, but it looked pretty horrid.
Happened to stumble upon this model on Gamebanana.

It's flying around all the time, the sudden death is really lame at the moment. Shake+wind. Couldn't think of anything cool, but i'm open to suggestions.

yeah maybe let the dragon only appear at the sudden death.. or if you don´t like that make him more faster on sudden death

There's nothing wrong with using materials from officially released source games in custom maps. Looks cool, looking forward to trying it out.

I messed around hammer and got the idea of making him spew fire at players during the sudden death.
Only problem with this is, the way i'm doing it likes to crash the game.

Can't really make him faster tho, cause the models got no fast wing flapping animation.

No, there's nothing wrong if you have permission directly from the maker or if they put it up on gamebanana for anyone to use. Hawt damn - put this thing in a dragon attack map!

Well then you're on to something then MappingDuo. Let's see this link then eh.

Ahhh a different context revealed. You have proven me wrong lulz. It was made by a Xystus234. Does that alias have any ties to DM dev team? Reminds me of the dragons from the under-produced movie "Reign of Fire"

Even though it cannot yet be controlled by players, this would still be marvellous in a dragon attack map. Imagine one of these things attacking a cliffside castle, or lighting a village on fire.

Now you're definitely on to something. Thanks for showing us.

The maps you've released have a lot of potential to even better.

That would be easy to do, with the stickied tutorial. Infact, you just inspired me to try something later, when i've got the time and get my current map out of the way...

I'm definetely gonna update the map later. Adding more of the floating debris, making the dragon less predictible, better sudden death... Etc.

Your maps lack an interesting layout, I'd suggest investing more into that next time. wink.gif
    Good visuals though!
